The CTOM-BIEC 2024 International Conference Successfully Held in Langkawi, Malaysia
The School of Business (SB) IPB University successfully hosted the 3rd Business Innovation and Engineering Conference (BIEC) 2024, in collaboration with Universiti Utara Malaysia’s 4th Conference on Technology and Operations Management (CTOM). The conference took place on July 15-16, 2024, at the Aloft Hotel, Langkawi, in a hybrid format.
With the theme “Building a Resilient Supply Chain: Enhancing Productivity Towards Sustainable Development”, the conference aimed to strengthen international collaboration, disseminate research findings in reputable journals, and expand global networks in business innovation and supply chain management.
The event featured five invited speakers, including four experts from Malaysia and one from Indonesia. The Malaysian speakers were Dato’ Seri (Dr.) Michael Tio (PKT Logistics Group), Dato’ Ramli Mohd Tahir (KDEB Waste Management), Tuan Mohd Ridzuan Mohd Yunus (D&D Control), and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zulkifli Mohamed Udin (Universiti Utara Malaysia). Representing Indonesia was Dr. Raden Dikky Indrawan from SB-IPB University.
A total of 76 participants attended the conference, consisting of 25 participants from Indonesia and 51 international participants from seven countries: Malaysia, Thailand, India, Nigeria, Bahrain, Qatar, and the UAE. Furthermore, 23 of the research papers presented at the conference were affiliated with IPB University.
The discussions and research presentations during the conference are set to be published in internationally indexed journals such as Scopus, as well as reputable national journals. As part of the effort to sustain partnerships, the international collaborators expressed their commitment to participating in future conferences and exploring broader cooperation in academic and non-academic fields.
The success of CTOM-BIEC 2024 underscores the pivotal role of the School of Business at IPB University in leading global discussions on business innovation and supply chain management. This event not only created opportunities for collaboration but also solidified SB-IPB’s position as a bridge for international knowledge exchange. With these achievements, SB-IPB remains committed to expanding its international networks, supporting innovative research, and driving sustainable development at a global level. (NH)
