Joint Activities: Summer Course Sustainable Business Development School of Business – IPB and Food Bank Bandung

Last Saturday (26/8), Food Bank Bandung, together with Courtyard by Marriott Bandung Dago Hotel, gave presentations for participants of Summer Course: Sustainable Business Development by School of Business – IPB University. The activity was hosted by Courtyard by Marriott Bandung Dago Hotel.

At the start of the activity, Mr. Andi Bagistav Oddek, the General Manager of Courtyard by Marriott Bandung Dago Hotel welcomed 40 participants who are from five nationalities and shared the visions and values of their company and their commitment to become a more sustainable hotel.

The first speaker was the Head Chef of Courtyard by Marriott Bandung Dago Hotel, Chef Rama Jatikusuma shared insightful information about the implementation of sustainability practices at the hotel, particularly in the F&B department. Interestingly, the hotel has adopted a complex digital infrastructure to monitor their sustainability achievement and reporting.

The last speaker, M. Gumilang Pramuwidyatama, Co-founder of Food Bank Bandung, shared insights about food loss and waste and initiatives to fight against them, food bank system, and the impact of the surplus food rescue program with the hotel.

We had questions from the participants. At the end of the activity, a token of appreciation for the host and us was given by Dr. Siti Jahroh and Dr. Dikky Indrawan. The activity also led to a potential future joint activity related to sustainable businesses.

Of course, the host served us nice drinks and local food which hopefully gave pleasent memories for the participants.
