Effective Anti-Bullying Campaign Workshop

IPB School of Business organized a student character development training program with the theme of “Building an Effective Campaign Strategy in Preventing Bullying”. This event held on 28th August 2020 through a Virtual Zoom Meeting with IPB School of Business undergraduate student as participants. Ulin Ni’am Yusron as a facilitator of this event is an anti-bullying activator and social media specialist. The method that used for delivery is by presentation, question-answer interactive via chatroom and reaction tools, also practice in a group. All of the participants interact each other to make print campaign and got an advice from the facilitator to fix their campaign. In other words, this training held with a workshop method to make active participants.

The purpose of this event is to invites students to leave bullying behavior, optimize student potential to create a conducive campus atmosphere for development, and gave inspiration to students to create anti-bullying campaign. Participants show the graphic and communication skill by making print campaign, then present it and got an advice from facilitator and fellow participants. Facilitator thought that student campaign will show creativity to developed their communication skill in the form of compact writing and pictures, concise, and interesting. This workshop gave a chance for them to deliver all of their creativity and graphic ability which has never been used before in learning and previous training.

Bullying is something that often occurs in everyday student life. With this workshop, student can learn how to prevent bullying and build a conducive campus atmosphere and social media to learn and live life through campaign creation. Social media are often used to cyber-bullying, but now is must be used for spreading anti-bullying spirit. There are four types of bullying, which are physical, verbal, emotional, and cyber. With the high level of social used by student, cyber-bullying is the type of bullying that happen in student life. Bullying like this most often happens because of the possibility of acting anonymously. In extreme case, it can lead to hacking accounts and sharing personal information and images. By this program, IPB School of Business hopes that student not only having a sociable, polite, and cheerful behavior, but also able to build an effective anti-bullying campaign strategy for fellow students.

Training of National and State Life “Demi Merah Putih dari Anak Negeri”

IPB School of Business held a Training of National and State Life with theme “Demi Merah Putih dari Anak Negeri) on 25th August 2020 via Zoom meetings for celebrating 75th Indonesian Independence Day. The purpose of this training is to give broad view to young generations, prepare self-competence, and be wise on responding the dynamics of change and the era challenges. this training presenting three speakers, which are H. Bambang Soesatyo, S. E., M. B. A as a chairman of MPR that gave topic about “Agent of Change Facing Global Competitiveness in Order Welcoming Indonesia Emas 2045”; H. Samsudin, S. SOS.I, MH that gave topic about “Four Pillars: Guidelines for the Life of the Nation and State”, and Asep Taryana S. TP MM as a representative of the Indonesian Parliamentary Experts Association and IPB School of Business lecture with topic about “Basic Rules: Cracking Success for Entrepreneur Acceleration”. This training was followed by bachelor, master, general, and graduates from IPB School of Business.

The training began with remarks by the Rector of IPB and the Dean of IPB, which was followed by the speakers’ presentations. At the end of the presentations, question and answer session and games with prizes was held. The training ended with conclusions from Kezia Clara as a moderator and giving the speaker appreciation in the form of certificate.

The chairman of MPR RI in his presentation said that the thing that agent of change needs to prepare is the spirit of nationalism that upholds optimism and diversity in order to compete and face Generasi Emas 2045. H. Samsudin talk about four pillars in the life of the nation and the state, which is respecting the differences in life in diversity. While Asep Taryana explain about entrepreneur acceleration to achieve success in the nation and state framework. By holding this training, hopefully participants will be able to recognize and understand the pillars of national and state life, know the making of academic papers mechanism, and increase their love for the country.

Start Up Book

START (to) UP

Should I bounce back from the trauma and get back to starting a business (again)? If I get up, will my business succeed this time? Will Mr. T’s so-called trauma vanish from inside me forever?

Start (to) Up is a book that comes with new genre as ‘Fusion 3 in1’ which blends theory and practice of building a business start-up into a light-hearted life novel story. The book born from thoughts and hands of Fitri Kinasih Husnul Khotimah (Alumni of SB IPB’s Bachelor and currently studying for Master degree in SB IPB) and David Cornelis (PhD student in SB IPB) and has published by Elexmedia publisher. It officially circulated throughout Gramedia on November 18, 2019. Setting up on the campus of SB IPB, Start (to) Up tells story of fall and awake to establish business start-up and combined with story of  love and life journey. Presented with elaboration quotes on each page, the book was able to motivate readers and enjoying the story.

Parviz Shipping Company was destroyed by invisible opponents which caused its lost trillions of rupiah. Turning Parviz family’s life into its lowest point. Leaving a trail of trauma in the mind of their heir, Denial Parviz. I’m Denial who shackled to a stranger named Trauma. Fear and anxiety are present with him, every time I deal with the cruel reality of the business world. Especially when fate always leads me to that world, a world that I never wanted to live in. Until I was finally reunited with Millen who was also deceived by the trauma. Befriending with her is like a traumatised couple trying to live together.

Can I live in the shadow of trauma? Did I make every effort to conquer it? Or is it the sense of trauma that will continue to overwhelm me? Time and time I tried to bounce back from that trauma by starting different types of businesses, many times I fell into greater trauma since it repeatedly failed. Until I choose to end my life in a vain way, suicidal. Unfortunately, Millen and Reynand came before I ended my life. Millen, the girl that I secretly in love asked me to try to bounce back from the trauma and get back into business (again).

Meraki.ed – Triple Your Business Skill with Digital Marketing

The world pandemic due to the presence of Covid-19 has brought changes to our lives. Currently, activities that based on digitalization are increasingly being used. It happens because we have to keep our distance by staying at home. However, this pandemic doesn’t stop them. IPB School of Business together with student organizations held a digital-based soft skill development event that adaptive in current situation. Talking about digital marketing, this program was successfully held on 5th until 15th August 2020 with a total of 411 participants.

The event divided into three series with interesting talk shows and challenges. It is intended that Meraki.ed 2020 participants can implement what they get in each session. Those series presenting three speakers with different background. This is done to adjust with theme of the event, which is “Triple Your Business Skill with Digital Marketing”.

On the first series, Meraki.ed 2020 inviting Iyas Lawrence from Makna Talks as a speaker that lead by Akhmad Sofyan, IPB School of Business’ student, as a moderator. With theme “Think Digital, Talk Smart”, Iyas told about how to being adaptive while facing this development especially on public speaking sector. He also explains about how to developed Makna Talks until now. This series ended with the challenge of making Elevator Pitching which is done by using social media in the form of Instagram.

The second series held on 8th August 2020, iniviting Rio Purba, a design vlogger, as a speaker and Cindy Taj Queena, IPB School of Business’ student, as a moderator. Theme of this series is “Everyone is a Marketing Designer”. Rio explains everything about graphic design and connecting it with digital marketing. Rio also gave a tutorial to make micro-blog, to show them how to make a content. This series ended by giving participant a challenge to create creative content using graphic design knowledge that has been given.

The last series held on 15th August 2020 with Fardi Yandi, founder of socialkreatif, as a speaker and Maria Jacklyn Brilyani, IPB School of Business’ Student as a moderator. With theme “The Magic of Copywriting in Digital Era”, it explains in depth what is the meaning of copywriting and also how to make copywriting that sell. First of all, Fardi started to explain about the basics of copywriting and ended by challenge participants to make interesting Instagram’s caption.

According to the committee, the division of this event is a step to achieve three important things digital marketing, which are public speaking, graphic design, and copywriting. The committee also hope that this event can develop participant’s skill of digital marketing.
